Cape Peninsula Road Tour

Simon's Town

Activity Description

Cape Visits offers tours of the Cape Peninsula by road.

We’ll take you to the famous Cape Point, where ’the two great oceans meet’. The cold Atlantic Ocean and the warm Indian Ocean currents meet here, allowing for lots of sea and bird life. You can enjoy a meal or tea at the Two Oceans Restaurant, with its fabulous views across False Bay looking towards Hangklip, Gordon’s Bay, Strand, Mitchell’s Plain and Muizenberg.

There are fantastic walks along the outcrop to the old lighthouse and then you can travel to the top of the hill on the Flying Dutchman Funicular. Experience the fantastic wildlife and biodiversity in the Table Mountain National Park. Situated in the Southern Table Mountain National Park, it offers a huge variety of different plant species, birdlife and animals. Cape Point is well known across the world because of its rich maritime history and the area has the richest of the world’s six floral kingdoms. At certain times of the year, Humpback and Southern Right Whales are seen frolicking in False Bay.

Time permitting, you can then choose any other Cape Peninsula designations from the list below:

  • A quick stop to see the famous African Penguin colony at Boulders Beach
  • A scenic and interesting drive along the False Bay coastline where you are likely to encounter a troup of Chacma Baboons.
  • A drive over Chapman’s Peak, which is widely regarded as one of the most amazing coastal roads in the world.
  • A stop for an awesome seafood lunch in Hout Bay, where you can also explore a busy craft and local goods market
  • A scenic drive along the Western seaboard, though Clifton, Camps Bay, Bakoven and Sea Point.

We can collect and drop you off at your hotel or Guest Lodge, by arrangement.
