One of Panthera Africa’s main purposes is to be an educational platform where we create awareness about the conditions big cats face in captivity, and how animal welfare and enrichment plays a vital role in giving them the best captive life possible. We are a true sanctuary where no cub petting, breeding or trading takes place.
On our educational visits you have the chance of capturing photographs of the big cats in their beautiful Natural homes, and get to know about their unique stories, in addition to the important facts about the species and their different situations. We strongly believe in the importance of educating you about animal welfare and conservation, so together with a staff member you will be taken for a lovely walk whilst admiring the beautiful cats.
We ask you kindly to arrive 15 minutes prior to your visit.

Very disappointed in talk and your which was only directed to the adults and not the child. Repeatedly brought child to her attention to include him but request ignored. We left before the tour was complete. Perhaps talk should be given in a more relaxed, heart felt and not rehearsed way. Try keep the children's attention with facts they can absorb - Carolyn
We have visited many Cats Sanctuaries, Panthera Africa is the best in terms of education and caring for their loved animals.... We were so privileged to be a part of it. For those who would like pictures please keep in mind that the whole nets are small and there are no deck to take any pictures from the top or so ever.... It was a very good experience to have been here. The information was very comprehensive and new to us. Afterwards we were somewhat disturbed by the industry that has grown up around the animals and how money is made from them. We hope that in the interests of the animals, political regulations will be put in place in future to prevent the kind of fates we have seen here. Thank you very much for your commitment. - Ulrich
