Customer Reviews

We ride regularly at Hog Hollow when we are in Plett on holiday. The yard is so well run and the horses are happy and live as a herd in huge paddocks when they are not on outrides. The guides are careful and knowledgable and suit each rider's stated ability to the horse they are given. The forests are beautiful and there are sufficient areas for an energetic trot or canter if required. My daughter and I return every year and have developed wonderful friendships with the guides and staff at Hog Hollow who are warm and helfpul on every level. We have also been on the picnic ride to Kurland and were lucky enough to ride up into the tea plantations and mountains surrounding Kurland which are breaktaking. We haven't yet tried the rides to the wine farms in the area which are offered by Hog Hollow however will be returning to do so soon. - Gillian Lowndes

Such a great outride with guides really making sure they understand your level of experience and assisting in improving it. Our guide, Owen, was especially attentive and my beginner daughter absolutely loved him. We'll definitely recommend to any level rider. - Lynett Olivier

We had a great time horse riding at Hog Hollow. My wife who is an experienced rider was able to canter on several occasions and our guide made sure I, as a beginner, was always ok. The scenery was great. The horses were in very good condition and clearly looked after. - Ian B

This was a very enjoyable experience, made all the more so because of the wonderful and well cared for horses, and my guide Collings, who was friendly, attentive and really looked after me. The trail was great, I was able to do some trotting and cantering, and I thought the stop for afternoon tea at the farm cafe was a welcome and much appreciated touch. Altogether a Highly Recommended from me! - Sarah Barnes

Absolutely loved the experience! Owen is an excellent guide - knowledgeable, friendly and always ready to give riding advice. Would recommend this experience to anyone. - Joe van der Walt
